Art Theory and Criticism Department - Master Degree

Program Type: Master's Program with Thesis Form of Teaching: Normal Education Language of Instruction: Turkish Our Mission; Our aim is to train curators, exhibition managers, festival/biennial managers who are experts in their fields and who will take charge in the management level for official and private museums, art galleries, municipalities and cultural centers opened in recent years in Turkey. To train art theorists and critic based on an interdisciplinary education model that deals with art in the integrity of theory and practice, and recognizes the special problems of art's application areas. Our vision; The program aims to educate individuals who will produce and apply theoretical perspectives in line with the interdisciplinary development vision of art productions, especially after the 2000s, the development of art accelerated in Turkey. To be a department that trains art writers who have the ability to evaluate institutions, galleries and artistic activities carried out in these structures in a theoretical dimension. It aims to train art theorists and critic based on an interdisciplinary education model, who deal with art with the integrity of theory and criticism, and who recognize the methods of criticism regarding the application areas of art.
