Sculpture Graduate Program (Master's Degree)

The Graduate Program in Sculpture offers a research-oriented environment where material exploration, spatial thinking, and contemporary artistic practice come together through creative inquiry. The program encourages students to develop original artistic expressions by integrating studio practice, theoretical research, and interdisciplinary perspectives.

Recognising sculpture as an evolving artistic discipline that extends beyond traditional forms, the program supports experimentation with diverse materials, installation practices, site-specific works, and public art. Students are encouraged to investigate the relationship between form, material, concept, and space while developing independent artistic research.

Master's education combine creative production with scholarly inquiry, preparing artists and researchers capable of contributing to contemporary sculpture through innovative practice and critical thinking.

Program History
The Graduate Program in Sculpture was established in the 2020–2021 academic year within the Graduate School of Fine Arts at Akdeniz University. Building upon the academic experience and studio tradition of the Faculty of Fine Arts, the program offers master's education while continuously responding to contemporary developments in sculpture and artistic research.

Educational Philosophy and Objectives
The program integrates artistic creation with research-based practice. It aims to educate artists and researchers who explore material, form, and space through critical inquiry while developing original artistic languages that respond to contemporary artistic and cultural issues.

Students are encouraged to experiment with diverse materials, engage in interdisciplinary collaborations, and investigate new approaches to sculpture through creative and research-led practice.
